Get to Know Shea’s Riverside Inn & Motel

Shea’s Riverside Inn & Motel has provided comfortable accommodations in Essex, MA for over 30 years! Like anything, we have changed and grown over the last three decades.

One change we are very proud of is certainly the renovation of the large house at the front of our property. The renovation converted the single family Colonial into a 6 room Inn. We kept as much of the old world charm as we possibly could (including hardwood floors and fireplace surrounds) while adding all of the comforts you would expect from a high-end hotel. Each room includes a custom designed bathroom that boasts a walk-in shower with a minimum of two shower heads, modern fixtures and exquisite lighting for getting ready for a day of sightseeing or a night celebrating and making memories.

On the Motel side of the property we continue to lovingly maintain its classic charm while also undertaking noticeable improvements both inside of the rooms and throughout the property, including the recent creation of our private, riverside beach.

Shea’s Riverside Inn & Motel is unable to accommodate guests with pets. If you are in need of boarding services for your dog during your visit, we recommend contacting Barn Dog Daycamp to see if they have availability during your stay.

Between the Inn & Motel we now have 10 rooms open year-round, and a total of 20 rooms available during the warm season (May – October). Check-in begins at 2:00 pm and check-out is at 10:00 am. Early arrivals and late departures may be accommodated based on availability.

We welcome guests visiting Cape Ann for family vacations, romantic getaways, weddings and business travel. We cannot wait to share our part of paradise with you.
